Savannah’s Cake Smash Photography Session

I met Savannah at her home in Crawley, West Sussex for her first birthday photo shoot recently.

Savannah greeted me at the door on my arrival. Not at all shy and walking already just a few days before her first birthday! There is no stopping her now!

 

We started the photo shoot with a few portraits so that her parents could have both a mixture of timeless images, as well as those fun cake smash ones to always remember how their baby girl was at one year old.

 

 

You will never guess from those big, proper belly laughs, that she wasn’t too happy about sitting still for her photos – And who’d blame her now she’s so fast at getting about. She certainly challenged me to keep her interest long enough to sit in the same spot long enough to take her photo!

After the portrait session, a quick change of set up and we brought in the cake – this got her interest!

 

She wasn’t too keen about touching it with her hands, preferring a spoon to smash up the cake, but she did a fine job at it.

I thought a one point she was going to tuck in face first……it turned out not. A head butt to the cake instead lol!

 

Savannah had a fantastic time at her cake smash. The finishing touch to celebrating her first birthday. She did get very sticky – her bottom even stuck to the floor at one point! but as soon as we were finished all mum had to do was pop her in the bath and she was cleaned up in no time. And that cake all over the floor – all wrapped up in my back drop and disposed of  with no trouble at all.
