Newborn photography sessions capturing memories of how they were; Tommie’s session at 12 days old

 

When Tommie’s mum first contacted me to enquire about a newborn photography session, she had a special request; her family loved Disney and wanted to incorporate this into part of the session. She had contacted me at the right time, at less than 20 weeks into her pregnancy, not only did this qualify her for an early booking discount, it meant we had time to source special items that could be incorporated. I love it when clients have special requests – time for me to get creative. After some discussions we decided a Toy Story inspired them would be fabulous, so I set out to find a little outfit for him to wear. I love texture in my photos so I usually opt for something knitted but was unable to find any vendors selling these. I had one other idea though; in a previous session I had used a Build A Bear outfit for a Star Wars them. They are perfect size for newborns, and sure enough, Build A Bear didn’t let me down. So here is Tommie, aka Woody, packed up in a box and set to go off to Sunnyside.

 

 

 

In his newborn photography session, which was held at Tommie’s home in Crawley, West Sussex we just had to get some images of the family. Such an important thing to capture the new family together – the new chapter of their lives. Tommie’s older brother was so sweet with him. Just look at the love in his eyes as he looks at him! So precious, it makes my heart melt!

 

 

 

 

Tommie was a pro at his session – the perfect model in fact. He must have known how important these images were. Something that his mum and dad are going to treasure forever. They want to always remember how tiny he was when they first brought him home, because in a few short months they’ll be wondering how he was ever this small.
