I launched a doorstep social distance casting service during lockdown to help parents who didn’t want to miss out on castings their newborn baby. Parents really enjoyed being part of the process creating a memory of their baby.
Now my studio has reopened I’m offering 2 methods of casting. If you’d like to maintain 2m social distance then the first option requires 2 adults, one to hold the baby while the other takes the moulds. I help you to prepare and position your baby then I mix the casting gel for you. I coach you on taking the mould with me standing at least 2m away wearing appropriate PPE. I will check the mould and recast if it hasn’t come out well.
Alternatively now that social distancing has been eased I can take the casts myself wearing PPE. We will only be in close contact for approximately 1 minute per cast. If you are anxious about travelling with your newborn then I also offer a home visit service.
The moulds are taken with a seaweed based gel which is safe on even the most delicate skin and is suitable from newborn with no upper age limit.
All my equipment is sterilised between appointments and I wear appropriate PPE, observe social distancing and ensure health and safety advice is followed.
I have many samples on display to give you style ideas then after the casting I will send you the options for your cast colour, framing and mount choices.
