Kiana’s first birthday Cake Smash

 

Every child’s “firsts” are special, but a first birthday has to rank the highest. You won’t believe how quickly that year has flown by – how can your little one be a year old already? They’ve changed more than they will in any subsequent year. They’ll have learnt to sit up, to crawl and may even be walking by now. Of course that sometimes means they don’t want to sit still and pose for a photo – so what do you do?……put a cake in front of them to explore or course!

Starting with some timeless portraits, these sessions are a great way to document all these special milestones that they have achieved up to now.

 

 

 

After the portrait sections it’s time for fun……

 

 

Kiana wasn’t too sure at first. She started gently picking at the cake and she pulled some really funny faces as she took large mouthfuls. Perhaps a little too sweet Kiana?

 

I often find that the child eats away, eyes fixed on mum because they’re not entirely sure if mum is ok with them scoffing cake all to themselves. But then…..

“Yes cake!”

 

 

 

“Oh my gosh this cake is GOOOOD”

 

 

And when the session is over and mum strips baby down to clean them up I always love to get the shot – it’s a favourite of the parents too. Who doesn’t love dimply baby bottoms?!
